EVRF® Thermocoagulation for the treatment of varicosity
The technique behind the EVRF®: Thermocoagulation

The EVRF®
The principle of thermocoagulation is the heating of the vein which makes the vein coagulate. This rise in temperature is achieved by sending a high frequency pulse in the tip of the needle or catheter. Because of the perfect isolation, the effect is very local and the effect on the surrounding tissue is limited.
The EVRF® is an all-in-one device for the treatment of all sorts of varicose veins. The EVRF uses a needle or a catheter depending on the size of vein you want to treat. The small veins are treated with the special designed thermo coagulation needles R3I and R6I and needleholder for face or legs veins. The larger veins up to 5 mm are treated with a special designed catheter which will be penetrated into te vein and coagulates the vein from the inside. For the Great Saphenous Vein a CR45i catheter is used.
Precise control (EVRF generator)
The duration of the pulse can be set from 0.1 to 1 seconds in 0.1 second steps. The pulse power can be selected in of 5 % steps, with the capsense touch screen (no touch pen needed). The combination of both settings allow for very precise control over the amount of energy administered.
Needles and catheters
The insulated needle coagulates the small varicose vein with minimal damage to the skin.
This needleholder with needle is used for transcutaneous treatment of small varicose veins on the face or legs between 0,3 and 1 mm.
On the left hand you see our special designed handsets with catheter for the treatment of varicose veins between the 1-5 mm.

CR12i
These handsets are easy to hold and control, very flexibel and the perfect insulation makes it possible to slide the catheter into a varicose vein and coagulate the vein from the inside. This thermacoagulation effect is similar to treatments of the large saphena vein.
Indications
• Varicose veins between 0.3 and 1mm with needles
• Facial wrinkles with the needles (separate protocols)
• Varicose veins, feeder veins up to 4 mm with the catheter
• Rosacea, petechia
Saphenous veins
Recently, F Care Systems extended its product range with a special designed catheter for efficient removal of the Saphena Magna. Thermocoagulation of the Saphena Magna is performed with a 0,5 cm long tip, this is slowly pulled back so the entire vein closes. This procedure takes about 5 minutes.
Saphena Magna removal with the EVRF device is minimally invasive, preventing unpleasant and possibly unsafe side effects such as pigmentation defects, superficial thrombophlebitis or deep venous thrombosis. Patients experience minimal discomfort and normal activity can be resumed within one day.
How to use the CR45i?
1. Insert a 6F introduction needle into the saphena magna vein;
2. Insert a guide wire through the needle into the vein. Open the vein by sliding a dilatator over the guide wire.
3. Replace the guide wire with a CR45i catheter and move the catheter up the vein. Position the catheter correctly with echo Doppler guidance.
4. Depress the foot pedal to send a radio frequency signal into the veins. The warning tones and lights on the EVRF tell when the catheter needs to be retracted. Repeat the procedure until the end of the vein.
