Intense pulsed light (IPL)
IPL is unordered light of serveral golf length. This light is produced by a specially constucted xenon lamp. Using filters the spectrum can be adapted partially. IPL is therefore more flexible than lasers but less specific.
Several components in the skin absorb light of different golf length. The absorbed light is converted into warmth, which leads to fabric damage. The most important absorption happens by melanine (pigment) and haemoglobin (blood, therefore dishes).
